The State of Vitality in the U.S.

Together with psychologist Dr. Richard Ryan, the world’s foremost authority on the science of vitality, we developed a scientifically validated, proprietary measure of whole-person health and surveyed more than 10,000 adults across the U.S.–the largest study ever done on vitality and health.

Vitality as a Next Generation Health Measure

The Cigna Group Foundation prioritizes investing in organizations and entities that support the vitality of local communities. To begin, The Cigna Group Foundation will partner with YMCA of the USA (Y-USA) and contribute $1 million to support three years of vitality programming at YMCAs in Houston, Memphis, Nashville, Phoenix, and St. Louis.
